If you are experiencing a dental emergency and require an emergency tooth removal, contact us right away. We are typically able to perform your extraction on the same day.
For routine tooth extractions, Dr. Chen begins by injecting a local anesthetic to completely numb the area where the tooth will be extracted before the procedure begins. Although you will likely experience varying degrees of pressure, you will not feel the pain of having the tooth removed at Auburn Family Dental. Our staff members carefully monitor you for any pain response and will ensure that adequate anesthetic is administered. Our patients have trusted us for professional tooth extraction for over three decades. Following your extraction, you will be given instructions for proper care of the area where the tooth was removed to promote healing and minimize any residual pain.
If you will be having multiple teeth extracted or if you have impacted teeth that require surgical removal, a stronger general anesthetic will be applied to promote a peaceful sleep and ensure that you will not suffer pain anywhere in your body during the extraction procedure. If you have an impacted tooth, the gum and bone tissues that encase the impaction will be carefully cut away to expose the tooth for removal. Forceps will be applied to the tooth and the doctor will gently rock the tooth back and forth to loosen it from the ligaments that are holding it in place within your jawbone. Care is taken to minimize pain following the procedure. In some cases, when a tooth is severely impacted, the tooth will be removed in pieces to avoid unnecessary trauma to the structures of your mouth.
